Ann Landers Descriptions of Books & Novel

Ann Landers

Esther Pauline "Eppie" Lederer née Friedman (July 4, 1918 – June 22, 2002), better known by the pen name Ann Landers, was an American advice columnist and eventually a nationwide media celebrity. She began writing the "Ask Ann Landers" column in 1955 and continued for 47 years, by which time its readership was 90 million people. A 1978 World Almanac survey named her the most influential woman in the United States. She was the identical twin sister of Pauline Phillips, who wrote the "Dear Abby" advice column as Abigail Van Buren.
Lederer was a profile-raiser for several medical charities, and in 1977 President Carter appointed her to a six-year term on a cancer advisory board.

West meets East (Continue)

Many food from my country such as Tom Yum Kung have become popular overseas.

Some of the best actors in my country like Bie The Star have become popular throughout Asia.

Some movies and TV shows in my country such as Pee Mak Prakanong would probably be hard to understand in western countries.

These days, I like musicians and music groups from the west like Maroon 5.

Some athletes in my country such as Theerasil Dangda have a good chance of being successful in the top leagues in the world.

Today I learn about "Expat in Asia". I practice exercise before read it. The text is about the interview with an American English professor (Michael) teaching in Taiwan.
I read it and find difficult word and find meaning by dictionary.

West meets East

The " Asianization " of th United States
As recent book, and newspaper and magazine articles have pointed out elements of Asian culture seem to be becoming more and more mainstream everyday.
If you look closer, you also see Chinese takeout restaurants in almost every city in the United States, even in the smallest, more remote towns.
There is also the emergence and growing popularity of Asian and Asian-American personalities. For example, actors and actresses, such as Rick Yune, Nicole Bilderback, Kelly Hu, and Lucy Liu are in high demand.

Athletes from Asia like the Seattle Mariner former American League Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player, Ichiro Suzuki , and, most recently, Yao Ming in the NBA, are also international media sensations following in the recent footsteps of Chan Ho Park and Hideo Nomo.
Park Ji Sung is the most famous in Europe. He played in Manchester United.

Multimedia creations from or inspired by Asia are the latest rage among kids --Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, and Final Fantasy video games, to name just few.

Martial arts is the most popular among west. For example, Kang fu, Karate, Judo, and etc.
